  • Heavy abrasives should be avoided for cleaning brass fasteners.

  • Unlacquered brass fasteners tarnish on exposure to air. A weekly wiping with little liquid ammonia on a soft cloth will help retain the shine of unlacquered brass fasteners.

  • Heavy tarnish, difficult stains and corrosion from brass fasteners can be removed by cleaning it with a piece of cloth dipped in hot, soapy water or a weak ammonia and water solution.
