The pivot hinge can be used for
overlay doors, recessed doors or flush doors. One of the advantages of
the pivot door hinge is that it requires no door frame for mounting.
These hinges for door are designed for both left-hand and right-handed
installations. They are also suitable for overlay type installations.
There is one variety of pivot hinge called gravity pivot hinge, which
is arranged in such a way that the weight of the door causes it to close
from an open position or open from a closed position. These type of
hinges for doors is not suitable for use on fire doors. They can be
purchased with or without a hold-open stop.
