Rim Door
Lock are independent of the door knob. They are basically installed
on the inner side of the door and the bolts are fixed into a
corresponding leaf attached inside the door frame. Though they are
mounted on the surface of the door, the body of the lock is visible from
the side of the door on which they are installed.
Rim lockset have been in use since more than hundred years and are
available in wide variety of designs and styles. These lock sets are
suitable for both interior and exterior doors.

Usually metals and metal alloys are used for making rim door locks.

Polished brass finish, polished chrome finish, satin chrome finish
and black finishes are available for rim locks.
Design & Style of Rim locks
Rim Door locks are designed in such a way so that match with the finish
and style of the door. Horizontal type of rim locksets are very common
and consist of knobs, backplate, escutcheons and two keys. Screws
required for installation are also provided with rim door locks. The
deadbolt lever is inserted inside and also comprise of a reversible
latch.
